Welcome to the official website of the St Nicholas Tavelic Mission Network for Morisco Catholics, the Catholic Church’s only universal mission to converts from Islam.
Our Mission
Who are we?
The St. Nicholas Tavelić Network for Morisco Catholics, or ‘Tavelić Network’ for short, is a lay organisation established for the purpose of meeting the pastoral, sacramental, and catechetical needs of converts within the Muslim world to the Catholic Faith, especially the many underground communities of said converts.
To accomplish this, we work to preach the faith in ways intelligible to Muslims and the wider Islamic civilisation.
Our Values
To inspire our youth to dedicated and devoted study of the Apostolic Deposit, cultivating the many latent special potentials present among Moriscos.
To establish an inculturation of the passing on of, celebration of, living of and prayer of our Faith. This must be careful, organic and authentically Catholic; it must concern local religious and cultural values and practices in every region of Islamic civilization. All that is diabolical is to be purged, that the good and human might be offered purified to God.
We also work to awaken the true missionary spirit and the spirit of solidarity and unity elsewhere, especially among Moriscos in the diaspora.
The network aspires to establish itself in all territories which are officially Islamic states, possess a Muslim majority or plurality, or possess an influential Muslim minority.
We work with clergy with the relevant canonical permissions to provide sacraments and formation to converts in territories where the existing institutions of the Church are unable to.

Our Journey
Prior to 2024
Informal networking
Catholics from a Muslim background were connecting online and a community was beginning to grow and assemble.
March 2024
First Sacramental Tour
Our Priest confidant resolved to travel across North Africa to baptise the first cohort of our friends
April 2024
Papal exhortation
The Holy Father instructed us to continue the work of preaching, giving the sacraments, and catechising.
August 2024
Formal meet up & Launch
Canterbury Conference held to define TavNet’s structure, principles, needs, and objectives.
Online Morisco Catholic community created; 110+ members. Regular formation sessions began.
Post August, 2024
Projects
Began networking with subject-matter experts (catechetics, liturgy).
Catechetical study group for volunteers established.
Began developing a catechesis system based on Church documents and pre-conciliar texts.
2024
First Mission tour
- Provided pastoral support and the sacraments to local convert families in North Africa
- Provided Absolution and Eucharist to existing converts.
- Liturgical formation for the Morisco community began (chant training).
- Developed a condensed, traditional-rite-compatible OCIA plan, with baptisms.
Present
We are only just beginning. New missions, sacramental tours, and formation projects are already underway serving isolated converts, preserving sacred tradition, and building bridges where none exist.
